“What I Hear”

As I walked around my neighborhood Bay ridge in Brooklyn, I could hear peaceful melody of sounds. I used the word “peaceful” because when I went for a walk it was 10pm which consider night time but New York never sleeps… I heard the sounds of cars, storming down the street. Some of them were honking and others were blasting music out the window. The weather was a little windy and I could literally hear how wind was picking leafs up and dragging them along the sidewalk. I could hear the motion of American flag waving  on the wind. I heard the  springy sound of sneakers hit the road as runners ran down the street. I heard the airplane zooming trough the sky, as I heard the train trembling the ground. While I was walking by the private houses I heard beautiful sound of chimes jingling on the wind. As I kept walking, I heard some pedestrians talking to each other and I heard the squeaky noise of an opening gate of the garage.

What is the texture of the sound? The texture of the sound is smooth and peaceful. The sound was calm and relaxing.

What are the specific instruments in the city symphony? Specific instruments in the city symphony would be the cars honking and driving around, people talking, trains going back and fort, you almost can feel the rush in the air of the New York atmosphere.

What sounds are clues to different neighborhoods? Different times of day?
Particularly in my neighborhood, the movement of the cars honking and cutting each other starts at 9AM and continues till the afternoon when kids get home after school.

What are sounds that are unique or meaningful to you? Just unexpected?

Unique sounds to me would be the sound of the nature - the sounds of birds and the wind passing trough the trees are meaningful to me. Unexpected sound would be the melody of  birds on the trees. Usually I hear it in the morning when I take my dog for a walk.
